Kevin was born September 16, 1967 in Hartford and was the son of Robert Oliva of Windsor Locks and the late Alice (McCarthy) Oliva.
Kevin was and will always be a bright, shining, and positive soul impacting the lives he touched on earth and knowing his spirit will always be with us. Kevin met the love of his life, Mylinda, at Central Connecticut State University while they were both studying and working on campus. Kevin has been employed with CCSU for thirty Years and rose to the position of Director of the Academic Center for Student Athletes. Kevin loved spending time with his family, friends, co-workers, and loved ones.
He loved being able to help steer young athletes to success academically and personally. His Pride and joy was always in his two children, Mitchell Oliva (23) and Jocelyn Oliva (21) whom he loved more than words could accurately describe.
Kevin’s greatest attribute was his commitment to family and helping others. He always called to make sure his father, brother, sisters, nieces/nephews, and children were taken care of. On days when we were down, he would be our rock to help pick us up. If there was ever a job to be done, Kevin would be there to do it. There was never a person Kevin did not offer to help. His bright and ever-shining spirit will protect us all through the love he has shown us.
In addition to his wife and father he is survived by his two children, Mitchell Robert Oliva and Jocelyn Sally Oliva both of Southington; his brother, Robert Oliva and wife Laurie of Enfield; three sisters, Lisa Prebit and husband Glenn of Windsor Locks, Kelly Famiglietti and husband Charles of Longmeadow, MA and Marie George and husband Mickey of Wilbraham, MA. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Sally Green of Prospect and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents, William “Babe” and Frances Oliva and William and Alice McCarthy and his father-in-law, Herbert Green.
