Joseph Tellerico Jr.

Joe was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on February 7, 1938. He was the son of the late Joseph and Lena (Ciccio) Tellerico.

Joe loved music and was a talented trumpet player. After the death of his father, he co-owned Jay Sons Screw Machine Products with his brother. He retired from Curtis Products in Bristol where he made many friends and considered them his extended family.

In earlier years, he and his wife loved taking drives, going to country fairs, and often stopped at Blackie's on a Sunday afternoon, before seeing a movie. He cherished watching his grandchildren in their never-ending sporting games and was proud of their academic achievements. He leaves the title of “Top Dog” to his grandson, Joey. He enjoyed completing the daily crossword, watching UCONN Women’s Basketball, the New York Yankees, Las Vegas, warm weather, and the islands, especially Aruba. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church and a devoted Catholic.

He will be remembered for living life to the fullest, whistling his favorite tunes, and his jovial personality.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children: Mark Tellerico, Ann Marie Tellerico, Patricia (David) DiBenedetto, Kathy (Daniel) Badgley, Joseph (Susanna) Tellerico, and Tina (James) Ringrose.

He leaves behind his 12 grandchildren: Nicola, Mark, Amanda, Jenna and husband Zachary Niles, Rachael, Sarah, Silvana, Jake, Jimmy, Zach, Joey, Jack and a great grandchild, Luca Niles, whom he adored.

In addition, he is survived by his brother, David (Joanne) Tellerico, loving sister, Cathi (Ted) Macchi and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ralph Prezioso and staff for the care they provided over the years and the Hartford Healthcare visiting nurses.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Sept. 3, 2021 at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. at 10:30 am Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday morning from 9-10 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.

Masks are mandatory for unvaccinated guest and are encouraged for all attendees.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
