She was born in Hallowell, ME on June 20, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Leland Sr. and Montez (Chase) Blanchard.
Elsie was a devout catholic and a parishioner of the former St. Thomas Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and the St. Rita’s Circle. She loved to play canasta with her friends and was an avid knitter and sewer. She worked for many years at the Southington Library and Patrick Baker & Sons.
She is survived by her son Richard Sargent Jr. and his wife Mary of Southington and her daughter Annette Horner and her husband Allen of Southington; five grandchildren, Sean Brennan, Leslie OBrien, James Sargent, Stephanie Allery and Lauren Sargent; three great grandchildren, Kaylee Brennan, Isla Allery, River Allery. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Leland Jr and three sisters Edna, Mae and Ruth.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1st from 9-11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. A service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Dick at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington
