David Lloyd Barker

David was born May 4, 1940 in Millinocket, Maine and was the son of Loretta Gagnon Barker. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn Duclos Barker. David was proud to have served in the US Marine Corps.

At the age of 59, he retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 37 years. He continued to work until he was 80. The Barkers travelled extensively after his retirement. He also enjoyed bowling, cards and morning coffee runs. Spending time and caring for his family was his greatest joy especially for his grandchildren at their soccer, basketball and football games.

David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn and their two sons David Barker Jr. of Hampton, NH and Steven Barker and his wife Cynthia of Plainville. He also leaves behind his two grandchildren Caitlin and Ryan Barker. He is also survived by his two brothers Lawrence (Larry) of Berlin and Jerry Barker of Bristol, also two sisters Donna Michaud of Newington and Paula Barker of West Hartford. He was predeceased by his sister Theda Gagnon. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all.

A Calling hour for David will be held on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a service at 11:00 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489. Burial will be private.
