He was a long-time resident of Feasterville, Pa. and later Buckingham, Pa. William Gordon was born on February 25, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pa, to parents, Elmer and Thelma Gordon. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1951. William went on to establish a career as a Telephone Technician, working for Bell Telephone of Pa for over 35 years. In addition, William served in the United States Navy.
Bill loved music, playing both the accordion and banjo in several bands. He was a proud member of the Polish American String Band and looked forward to New Year’s day each year. Bill also played social events and weddings with The Nite Airs. Bill went on to create a band along with two of his sons, Bill Jr. and Jim, and very close friends Paul and Isabel Moore, The Gordon Three and Two Moore. They played various venues in and around the Philadelphia area including the house band for Four Chef Caterers of Philadelphia.
Bill was a romantic. He even composed a couple of songs for his girl, Jeannette.
He loved his family and his precious dogs. He was thrilled to have gained not only his seven grandchildren but also his two great-grandchildren. Bill enjoyed his retirement years spoiling his wife, Jeannette, on many cruises and trips abroad with his sister Judy and late brother-in-law John.
Bill was a faithful, long-time member of Feasterville Community Reformed Church. He especially enjoyed cooking the Mother’s Day breakfast each year for the well-deserved women of the church.
Bill had a heart of gold.
Bill was preceded in death by Elmer and Thelma Gordon, his parents.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife Jeannette Gordon, his devoted children, William Jr. (Susan) of Feasterville, Pa., James (Kathleen) of Southampton N.J., Robert (Cynthia) of Perkasie Pa, and Deborah Burke (Christopher) of Trevose, Pa, 7 Grandchildren, James Anderson, Stephanie O'Brien (Gregory), William III (Lindsay), Jacqueline Gordon, Jessica Stroup (Kevin), Brittany Phillips (Douglas), James Gordon Jr. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Riley O’Brien and William Robert Gordon IV. He is survived by his sister Judy Burns (the late John Burns) and sister in law Joann Thomas and many cousins, nieces, and nephews
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, January 17, 2022 at Feasterville Community Reformed Church at 10:00 am located at 15 West Street Road, Feasterville, Pa 19053. A private Interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery will be held on Friday January 28th 2022.
