Richard P. Dass, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Ann’s Choice Retirement Community. He lived in Warminster, PA for over twenty years and was previously a longtime resident of Churchville, PA.
Rich was born on November 10, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, to parents John and Wanda Dass (Sierszpinski) and was one of two children. He graduated from Frankford High School in 1949 and proudly served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. as a photographer from 1951 to 1953. Rich continued his education, graduating from University of Pennsylvania Wharton Evening School of Accounts and Finance with a degree in Business. He later went on to establish a career as a retail store manager, working for Sears for over 40 years.
Rich was a passionate family man who loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed photographing both people and various landscapes. Rich served as an usher and a long-time active member of Davisville Church in Southampton, PA for over 25 years. He loved camping, singing in his high school and church choirs, and cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles on game days. Rich was a dog lover, and he always enjoyed a strategic game of chess.
Rich was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Emilia Dass. He is survived by his son, Paul Dass (Heather) of Warminster and his daughter, Arlene McCloskey (Daniel) of Lansdale. He was the loving grandfather of Timothy McCloskey (Ceci), David Dass, Abigail Norvell (Luke), Kaitlyn McCloskey, Joseph McCloskey, Danielle McCloskey, and Holly Dass.
Relatives and friends are invited to Richard's visitation which will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home Inc., 659 Street Road, Southampton, Pennsylvania 18966. Followed by the celebration of life service at 10:30 AM. A private interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hatboro, PA.
