Maurice W. Midgley died on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Holy Redeemer Hospice in Meadowbrook PA. He was ninety-three years of age. Born in East St. Louis IL, he was the son of the late Hugo and Mae Schaefer Midgley. Maurice had lived at the Southampton Estates for the past sixteen years and previously a longtime resident of Bensalem.
Mr. Midgley was a retired Railroad executive. He had been an employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad, Lehigh Railroad and Conrail.
Maurice was a communicant of the Our Lady of Grace Parish and former member of Saint Ephrem Parish in Bensalem. He was a member of Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Midgley had been an excellent baseball player and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Maurice also enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening and horseshoes.
Maurice was the beloved husband of Alvera Green Midgley for fifty-five years before her death in 2005. He was the devoted father of Marcia Dechan(Tom) of Media, James Midgley of Marlton NJ, John Midgley (Kathryn) of Royersford and the late Joyce Midgley. He was the loving grandfather Kacie Lynn, Becky, Justin, Andrew, Nathan and David; great grandfather of Natalie, Isabella, Leo, Jack, Josiah, Eliana, Ben and Dominic.
Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 10 AM to 11 AM on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Saint Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM. His interment will follow In Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
