Born March 20, 1951 in Philadelphia, to David R. and Beatrice B. Stith (Katz), David spent his childhood in Warminster, Pa. David married the love of his life, Linda Haering of Warminster on August 7th, 1971. They have been married for 43 years and raised three sons. David is survived by his wife Linda, his sons Nathan, his wife Helen Gayler, Ian, his wife Kelly Challet, and Devin, and his wife Crystal Kim, his Grandchildren Nicholas, Elizabeth, Isaac, and Emmett, and his sisters Susan Stith, Carol Hoffmeirer, and Barbara Hess.
David began his career as a motorcycle technician and then worked with his father at Underwater Technics in Camden, NJ. A self-taught carpenter, David worked for Orleans Homebuilders Corporation for 25 years. He began his career there as a Superintendent and worked his way up to most recently be the Vice President of Purchasing. After leaving Orleans, David founded his own consulting and contracting company, Axial Corporation. A highlight of his work was managing and overseeing the Philadelphia Magazine’s Design Home for 2013.
David was actively involved at the North & Southampton Reformed Church as a deacon and member of the counting committee. He also contributed time to several charitable events – he served as the primary organizer for the Crop Walk and Heifer International Project through the church for several years, and was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Additionally he was a highly regarded member of the Small Businessman Association of Southampton.
David was a modern Renaissance man, his interests ranged from motorcycles, to kites, wood working and scuba diving. He enjoyed camping, the New Jersey shore, swimming at Maplewood Swim Club, and looking for new problems to be solved. David served as the Pack-master for Cub Scout Pack 28 for 7 years along with his wife and children. Consistent during David’s life was his love of his family, and they were always his central focus.
The memorial service for David will be held on Saturday May 2nd 2015, at the North & Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Road, Churchville, PA 18966. Calling hours will be from 10:00-11:00am with the service beginning at 11:00am. Guests will be invited to stay and enjoy refreshments and fond memories of David after the service in the event room of the church.
