It is with great sadness that the family of Christopher Lapsley announces his passing on July 25, 2018. He was the youngest of 3 children; and as the only boy, he was a special person to all his family. Chris was born in Boston on July 30, 1984 at Brigham and Woman's Hospital, and took both his first and final breaths there. He succumbed to complications from his disease of addiction. His family is heartbroken to lose him.
Chris grew up in Mendon, MA with his family and close group of friends. He loved to skateboard, snowboard and ride his BMX bike with his pals. He spent summers in South Harwich at his parents’ cottage, always bringing his friends along. Long fun days were spent boating and fishing. Chris attended Nipmuc Reginal High School in Upton, MA until his junior year. He moved to Cape Cod in 2002 with his family, and graduated from the Technical High School in Harwich. He put his skills to work in both auto body and garage door installation. He could always solve problems with his tools and know-how, and typically needed no directions to put most anything together. Chris' hobby in more recent years was to build and fly model airplanes; he was most happy and proud of his adventures with his planes. He also loved to play his guitar and hang out with his cat, Chance.
Chris is survived by his parents, Gregory and Donna Lapsley of West Dennis, his sister Brenna Lapsley of Quincy, his sister Sarah Lapsley-Martin and husband Marty of Hyannis, and niece & godchild Liv Claire Martin. He also leaves the love of his life Corey Teachout of Hyannis; Aunt, Darlene Garron and husband William of Dennis; Uncle, Charles Murphy of Florida, and cousins Emily and Katherine Garron, Jessica and Bryan Murphy, and Joey and Bridget Burke.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis. His funeral will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with a tribute to his life. Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery on Route 134, South Dennis.
