Raymond E. Delahunt, 73, of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Jean M. (Andrews) Delahunt with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Everett, MA, he was a son of the late Earle Howard Hunt and Clotilde Esther (Pirro) Hunt.
Mr. Delahunt had worked as an Associate for the New York and New England territories of Verizon.
Ray was an accomplished trumpet player who played in bands, jazz and Christian events and tent revival meetings. He often referred to his talent as a gift from God. He was an avid reader, loved all sports and had a keen intellect. Ray will be missed by his loving family.
Surviving in addition to his wife Jean is a daughter, Sarah Forrestal; a step-daughter, Susan Audette; a brother, Walter Hunt (Lisa); a niece, Aline Hunt (Felix Garcia); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Hunt and a brother, Chris Hunt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 9-10:30 am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Service at 11 am in Hope Evangelical Community Church, 88 Hathaway Rd., Dartmouth.
