Peter Louis Johnson

Peter Louis Johnson, 73, of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was the husband of Sheila (Hayes) Johnson with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George Johnson, Sr. and Mary (Balestracci) Johnson, he was raised in New Bedford and had resided in Dartmouth for most of his life.

He was a graduate of S.M.U. now U- Mass Dartmouth.

Mr. Johnson enjoyed his successful career as a Real Estate Developer and Senior Partner for Spalding and Slye in Boston from 1982 until his retirement in 2004. He had a zest in the art of the deal to be made during his career where it seemed all parties that dealt with him were always satisfied and enjoyed working with Pete as they could always trust him.

Peter loved spending time with his family. Playing golf with his wife Sheila and son Alden. Spending time loving his grandchildren bouncing them on his knee. Trips on the boat to Naushon and all around the Elizabeth Islands and spending time at New Bedford Yacht Club. Trips to Barney’s Joy beach in his 1965 mustang. Winters with his wife in Pinehurst North Carolina playing golf. He was an exceptional human being and will be missed and loved for eternity

Surviving in addition to his wife Sheila is his son, Alden Johnson and his wife Rachael of Dartmouth; and his twin grandsons, Brooks Peter Johnson and Walker George Johnson.

Private services are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
