Manuel F. Brum, age 87, of South Dartmouth passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria Dionisia (Verdadeiro) Brum with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
He was born in Vila Franca do Campo, São Miguel, Azores to the late Virginio F. Brum and Maria Rosa Andrade. He had worked as a union laborer in Toronto, Canada before immigrating to the U.S. in 1967 and joining laborers' local 385.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Maria Dionisia; his sons, Joseph Brum of South Dartmouth and Nelson Brum of New Bedford; and his beloved grandchildren, Katherine and William. He is also survived by his sister, Marta Santos of South Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers; John, Jose, Antonio, and Virginio and his sisters; Maria and Irondina.
Manuel's visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Waring-Sullivan Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. His funeral will take place Wednesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 A.M. located at 795 Dartmouth Street, Dartmouth, MA 02748. Burial will immediately follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery, Elm Street, Dartmouth.
