Julia P. Grisso, 71, passed away peacefully at home January 12, 2021. She is survived by Frank Ferreira, her loving companion of 25 years, daughter, Heather Grisso, and grandchildren, Hannah and William Bouvier, all of Dartmouth.
Julia was born in Dartmouth to the late Joseph and Julia Ponte. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and went on to work at Stop & Shop where she would retire years later. It was there that she met her lifelong friends and enjoyed years of socializing with her customers and watching their families grow up.
Julia’s most treasured role in her life was loving and caring for children in her immediate, as well as, extended family. She was fondly referred to by so many as “Auntie” and proudly wore that title as her badge of honor. She will be remembered by all whose lives she touched by her sense of humor, her laughing attacks, whistling a tune like no other, enthusiasm for bargain shopping, her fierce strength to overcome, love of the beach and pools, and most of all talking and sharing with others which brought her endless joy.
In addition to, she is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Sacramento, and Pauline Arruda, her brother Joseph Ponte Jr, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Patricia Bettencourt.
Arrangements are in the care of the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, MA 02748. Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. To leave a note of condolence: www.waring-sulllivan.com
