Gertrude F. Souza

Born in Dartmouth, a daughter of the late Stanley L.M. and Blanche (Bussiere) Reed, Gertrude was a lifelong town resident. She was a seamstress for Cheryl Dress Company in Fall River for more than 30 years, retiring in 1994. She was also the owner/operator of Gert’s Ceramics. Gertrude loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren; she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, camping and ceramics.

She is survived by her children, Gertrude Southworth and her husband Barry of FL, Gail A. Pierce of FL, Marjory M. Farias of Fall River, Richard Souza of NY, Ralph G. Souza of Dartmouth and Robin L. Souza of Westport; her siblings, Everett Reed of Alaska and Joyce Moran of Dartmouth; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John L. Reed and Paul R. Reed.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:30PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02748. Relatives and friends are invited.
