She was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Maria A. (Silva) Barboza. She lived in New Bedford and was formerly employed by Aerovox for 40 years.
She dedicated her life to the wellbeing and safety of her sister’s three children. Her sister, Mary Barboza Baptista died in 1950 and was survived by three children ages 5, 4, and 2 years old. She played games, disciplined, clothed them and never gave up. She was a true survivor.
She is survived by her nephews and niece, Daniel R. Baptista of S. Dartmouth, Donald T. Baptista and his wife Rosanne of Stoughton, Beverly Bajerski and her husband Bogdan of Tallahassee, FL, Kevin Barboza and his companion Lisa Amaral of Middleboro, and Thomas Barboza and his wife Nancy of Largo, FL; sister-in-law, Louise Barboza of New Bedford; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Her funeral will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 8:30 am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth.
