Patricia M. (McCoy) Borkman, RN, age 80, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at her home in Somerset, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Paul A. Borkman, to whom she had been married for 58 years.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Laura E. (Nicolay) McCoy, she attended public schools, graduating from BMC Durfee High School, class of 1959. She received her degree in nursing from the Union Hospital School of Nursing in 1963.
Shortly after receiving her Massachusetts State Registration, she worked many years the former Union Hospital and later Charlton Memorial Hospital, holding several positions during her time there.
She was a Jeopardy fan and in her later years enjoyed watching the Celtics and Yankees with her husband.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Paul A. Borkman II and Mark A. Borkman and his wife Kelly all of Somerset; three grandchildren Brendon, Brian and Terryn Borkman; a sister Joyce A. Zygiel of Fall River and a god daughter Karen (O’Riordan) Nestor of Milford, NH.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 9am from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset, followed by her Funeral mass at 10am in St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 N. Main St., Fall River. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7pm in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited.
