Born in Tiverton, a daughter of the late John and Delia (Farias) Mello, she was a lifelong southcoast resident. Evelyn attended school in Tiverton and later worked as an Assembly Worker at Globe Assembly as well as King Philip Lunch. She loved her children dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was very important to Evelyn. She was a pet lover, enjoyed playing Pogo, making people laugh, cooking as well as watching movies.
Evelyn is survived by her son Michael Destremps and his wife Holli of Somerset; son-in-law, Claude Michel of Fall River; her five grandchildren, Emma and Nathan Destremps, Kelly Michel, Tammy Michel, Matthew Michel and his wife Melissa, ; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; she was the mother of the late Paul J. and Roy R. Destremps and Judith A. Michel; and sister of the late John Mello.
