Colleen M. Nobrega

She was the loving wife of Retired Officer Richard G. Nobrega of the Somerset Police Department, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Detective Lieutenant James L. Doyle of the Massachusetts State Police and the late Olive (Lindo) Doyle. Colleen had lived in Somerset since 1971.

A devoted communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Somerset, Colleen graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy in 1960. She later earned an associate's degree in social services from Bristol Community College in 1999.

Throughout her life, Colleen was actively involved in her community, serving as secretary of the Nazareth Hall Guild for many years. She also participated in the Kennedy campaign and the No Casinos campaign. Colleen enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband, traveling, and cherishing time spent with her family.

Along with her husband, survivors include her son, Richard Nobrega, Jr. of Fall River, her daughter, Alicia Correira and her husband Gary of Fall River, her grandchildren: Melissa DiMotta and her husband Zachary, Michael Farrell and his wife Janet, Aaron Correira and his fiancée Tanya and Kyle Correira and his wife Kimberly, her great grandchildren: Charlie, Penelope, Benjamin, Evelyn, Kinsley and Kristian; her brother, Kevin Doyle, her sister, Karen Doyle, her brother-in-law, Seraphin Nobrega and his wife Fernanda, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late James Doyle Nobrega and his late wife Kathleen and sister of the late Agnes Doyle.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County Street, Somerset followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, Somerset. Her visitation will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
