Claudette I. Courville

Claudette I. (Rioux) Courville, age 77, of Somerset passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of William A. Courville, to whom she has been married for the past 59 years.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Albert J. and Valeda (Salois) Rioux, she had lived in Somerset for the past 49 years.

Claudette worked at Toys R Us for almost 30 years before retiring. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Somerset. An avid golfer, she enjoyed reading, traveling and playing cards. She especially loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Cheryl Cordeiro of Somerset, William Courville and his wife Claire of Acushnet and Christine Marceau and her husband Scott of Somerset; five granddaughters, Amber, Cassie and Rebekah Cordeiro, Sophia and Isabelle Marceau; one brother, Paul Rioux of Tiverton and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Roger Rioux.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 9:00 AM from Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited. At the request of the family masks will be required. Contributions in her honor may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne.
