Carol A. (Sowa) Vaillancourt, age 77, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. She was the wife of Henry E. Vaillancourt, Jr. to whom she had been married to for the last 57 years.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Celia (Kocerza) Sowa.
Carol loved to travel, especially to Aruba and Florida. She enjoyed shopping, days at the beach and above all else, spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, Carol is survived by two daughters, Christine Antunes and her husband, Joseph, of Somerset and Deborah Cabral of Florida. She was always a devoted “Babcie”(Grandmother) whenever possible to Dillon, Lila, Tiffany and Bethany.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Contributions in Carol’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 301 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
