Richard D. "Chick" Giachetti, 70, of Camillus, passed away Friday July 26, 2013 at St. Josephs Hospital. He was born in Syracuse to the late Americo and Frances (Patalino) Giachetti. He was an assembler at Lipe Rollway for 28 years, then went to work at both Filene’s Basement and Solvay High School before retiring in 2009. 'Chick' was an avid bowler and sports fan. He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne (Fenske) Giachetti in 1995.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Carol Luckette, of Camillus, 3 sons, Anthony, of Liverpool, Gregory, of Solvay and Dean, of Camillus, 2 step-daughters, Lori Leonard and Kimberly Luckette, 9 grandchildren, Kacie, Devin, Brett, Alexis, Antonio, Nico, Nicholas, Gianna and Molly, a brother, John (Becky) Giachetti, of Camillus and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 am in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Monday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
