Frederick J. Allen

Frederick J. Allen, 62, went home to the Lord after a brief illness on Friday, May 3, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Morenci, Michigan. Fred was born on April 4, 1951 to the late Walter and Helen (Rushlow) Allen in Watertown, New York and graduated from Watertown High School in 1969. On May 28, 1972, Fred married Regina Terzini in Watertown, New York. He served as a sergeant in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge in 1974. Upon his return from the military, Fred relocated to Syracuse for 20 years. While living in Syracuse, Fred was a member of the Carpenters Union and then was employed by General Motors Corporation. He also served several years with the Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Department. Fred transferred to Morenci in 1993 to continue employment with General Motors Corporation/Delphi Automotive Systems, retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his half-brother, John "Jack" Allen and sister-in-law, Anne Trygar, Watertown and father-in-law, Amelio "Chops" Terzini, Syracuse.

In addition to his devoted wife of 41 years, he is survived by three daughters, Christina (James) Knight, Connersville, Indiana; Tracey (David) Harvey, Jr. of Adrian, Michigan; Maria Allen of Schenectady; and a son, Frederick J. Allen, Jr., Toledo, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; a sister Mary Allen, two brothers, Thomas (Bertha) Trygar and Bruce Allen all of Watertown; mother-in-law, Margaret Terzini, and sister-in-law Barbara (Gregory) Fernandez all of Syracuse and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fred will be lovingly remembered by his family for his great sense of humor, motorcycling, barbecuing, camping, ice fishing, snowmobiling, his love of the New York Yankees, Elvis and country music and spending time with his great friends at Morning Fresh Bakery.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter's Catholic Church, 301 Ash Street, Syracuse, at noon on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Celebrant will be Rev. Daniel M. Caruso, Pastor.
