Dexter B. Tyler, 90, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, October 6th at Loretto. He was born in Haverhill, New Hampshire to the late Arthur and Ida (Kendall) Tyler in 1926. Dexter was a chef and baker at many Syracuse area restaurants, retiring from the kitchen at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was well known for his apple pies, cream puffs and eclairs. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Grace (Harrington) Tyler in 2014.
Dexter is survived by a daughter; Sharon Benedetti, of Camillus, Son; Ronald (Bonnie) Tyler, of Parrish, FL, 5 grandchildren; Kim Benedetti, of Solvay, Kara (Ryan) Conway, of Dallas, TX, David (Kristan) Benedetti, of Syracuse, Lisa (Hootan) Zandifar, of Los Angeles, CA and Eric (April) Tyler, of Syracuse, 9 great-grandchildren; Jordan Walawender, of Solvay, Carter, Dylan and Davis Conway, of Dallas, TX, Caiden and Aryanna Zandifar, of Los Angeles, CA, Aubrey and Ethan Tyler, of Syracuse and Mia Wild, of Syracuse.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Monday, October 10, 2016 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave. Funeral services and burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park are private.
