Rodney Dean Reynolds was born February 2, 1926 in Yakima Washington. He was the son of Don & Merle Reynolds. Rod passed away on January 9, 2024 of congestive heart failure. He leaves behind his loving wife Phyllis of 72 years of marriage and children Stacy Matson of Dolores, CO., Steve Reynolds of Granite Falls, and Shelly Benda with her husband Dave of Lake Stevens. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Rod was very proud of his service to his country. He started his military career early in life, at the age of 16. He served in the Merchant Marines, Army, Navy, and Naval Reserves (Seabees). After meeting and marrying Phyllis, he became a devoted husband and father to his 3 children. Rod's family was his first priority; family meant everything to him. Rod spent most of his adult life in Snohomish County (Edmonds & Snohomish) raising his family. He was a carpenter by trade and loved building things and helping people. He built his home on Blackman's Lake in Snohomish where he and Phyliss lived for 45 years. He enjoyed feeding ducks, birds, and squirrels from his back deck. His final 2 1/2 years were spent at GenCare Lifestyle in Granite Falls. Rod made it just 3 weeks short of his 98th birthday. He always said, "No males of the Reynolds family live past 65." He far surpassed that! Services will be held at Bauer Funeral Chapel in Snohomish on January 19, 2024 at 1pm (no graveside service). In lieu of memorial gifts, please perform an act of kindness for someone in need.
