John Daniel Knowles Sr., born February 20, 1934 in Portland, OR, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 25, 2015. He was 81. John proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps for 40 years. He was a devoted Soldier of the Cross and was passionate about serving the Lord. John was also a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, children, Della May Bowman (Vern), Ellen Marie Munshausen (Mark), John Daniel Knowles Jr. (Reginia), Jeanette Lewis (Tracy), Faith Ann Thompsen (Dan), Carl David Knowles (Shelby), Edward William Knowles (Stacey), Trent Eugene Hartman (Lucilla), and Trinda Lyn Hartman, sisters Miriam Brown and Esther Nold, 42 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. John will be laid to rest with heroes at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 3pm.
