On September 4 , 2016, Jim Church chose to take his last road trip to heaven. He was born on April 30,1935 in Beaumont, TX, and passed away at Providence Hospice in Everett, WA . His loving wife Eleanor and his two children Craig and Janet were by his side as he went through this final journey. He exited this world in a peaceful and loving way… just as he lived his life.
An intellectual man, Jim was plucked out of graduate school at Rice University in 1959 to begin a career with IBM as a systems analyst. He advanced his career as sales management at multiple computer companies until he created his own executive search firm dedicated to the technology industry. If you needed an idea, Jim always had a good one for you!
His greatest life’s work was in service to others. Jim was dedicated to making a difference in the communities where he and Eleanor lived, including sitting on the boards of: Bellevue Schools, Evergreen Recovery Center, Snohomish Rotary and the Snohomish Education Foundation However, his most important and rewarding service was to his brothers and sisters who were members of Alcoholics Anonymous (where he was a member for 38 years). He sponsored many people over the years, all who have shared their love and appreciation for him with his family.
Jim’s greatest love was his family Eleanor, Craig, Janet, his daughter-in-law Isabel and his two wonderful grandchildren Madeline (19) and Liam (14).
Jim was an active and dedicated member of the Episcopal Church at parish, diocesan and national levels. The funeral service will be held at Jim and Eleanor’s home church, St. John’s Episcopal Church, 913 2nd St, Snohomish, WA on September 17, 2016 at 2:00pm. This is also where Jim’s ashes will be laid to rest, and where we can visit him while he spends his time with God.
