Peacefully, in his sleep, after remission from cancer, then multiple strokes in 2018, followed by a surprise reemergence of cancer. Always a "people person," Bruce was well liked by his neighbors at Queen Anne Healthcare who appreciated his wit, Bible expertise, knowledge of and enjoyment of fine cuisine, literature, and film and his story telling, especially tales of his beloved cats. Bruce spent his professional life as a cook, primarily in catering at the Seattle Center's venues and lastly catering at Safeco Field.
Survived by his brothers Doug Parris (Linda) Washington and Richard Parris (Denise) of Oregon.
Nephews Justin Parris (Abigail) of Washington & Nathan Parris (Betty) of Missouri.
Nieces Heather (Mark) Wright & Brittany (Dwayne) Boyd, of Washington.
Great nieces Katie Wright, Haylie Boyd, Mae Parris, Evy Parris
Great nephews Alex Wright, Kasey Clevinger, Simon Parris, Alexander Boyd, Joseph Parris
Greatly missed by the best friend of his life, Debbie McDowell (Burien), The Reverend Father Robert Sirico (Michigan), and Bruce's book buddy, the two-stepping cat queen, Lillian LeJeune (Enumclaw), and many, many other friends, including Jim Bachman (WA), Buzz Lawson (Texas), Sam Collins (LA).
