I’m so very sorry! I went to school with Joel ( he was a couple of years older) & he was such a great guy! I can see that big smile as I think of him! Praying for your family as I know this is such a difficult time! God Bless! 

Dearest Cindy. Lindsey, Wes,Stephanie, Mike Barbara and all the  grandchildren. I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how devastating it is to lose your husband father and grandfather. Joel was such a lovely man and to all the ups and downs of this health always welcomed me with a smile. I will hold that memory and the joyful times that you shared. To my beloved friend Cindy I can’t wait to see you and hope that you will get some rest. I know JOEL is at peace and wish all who loved him the parcel of God that passes all understanding.

My deepest condolences to Joel's family. I have known Joel since 1st grade in 1956. I was 1 year behind him. He was always a dear friend. I last saw Joel the year before Covid when he came to Jefferson to buy tomatoes from me. He did that every two weeks during the season I was open always telling me if he wouldn't be back in a couple weeks because of prior commitments.  We would talk about the past and friends, about our children and how proud we were and our grandchildren.  Always stays an hour or so. Goodbye buddy see you down the road....

Our sincere condolences to all of Joel's family.  It is a beautiful one.  Thanks for sharing so many treasured pictures. No one could help but love Joel and how he gave his all no matter what or who. He expressed his love and pride for all his family.  God we understand why you took Joel earlier than we all wanted, but it was because he was such a good person, and touched so many. Joel was more like a brother to me than a brother-in-law. We had some of the best times when he and Teena and Penny and I would take trips together a lot of times by ourselves and a lot of times with all our kids. The girls would tell us all the time , no mater whether he was driving or I was, y’all are lost you don’t know where you are going. We would just laugh and tell them “ as long as we can find water, a river or stream, we can’t be lost.” And sure enough within a few miles we would find water and say “ look I told you we were not lost “ lol fun times. Those are the types of memories that stay in the heart and help us get through the toughest of times. Joel will be missed as Teena but long remembered because of their hearts of gold that touched everyone they knew and knew them. RIP brother. 

Joel was a special friend. He filmed games for me at south. One fond memory when filming he would forget to go to the other side of the court at times. I would be watching the film and saying “ Joel get to the other side, we are missing the game”.  Will never forget him. A good friend.

 So sorry to hear of your loss but you know where he is even though that does not ease the pain of loss.  Just remember GOD is still in control.  
I grew up with Joel and his brothers as they were my first cousins (Aunt Velma was my dad's sister).  I remember the family reunions and the fun we had but over the years we go our separate ways and do not stay in touch as we should.  I remember when Stephanie and Barbara were born.  Joel was so proud of his family and let it be known.
 I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts during this difficult time. 

Joel, Teena, Mike  and I  made a lot of fun trips together. One of my fondest memories was a trip To Helen, ga. We went in the German Bakery and  Joel and I were looking at the different cookies they had, I saw one that said Snowballs and I commented to Joel, we should get some of those they look great. Joel,s response was we cant, they will melt by the time we get back to the cabin. The young girl behind the counter looked at him and said No they won't. We laughed and laughed.  He was a great brother in law and friend. Will miss you. LOVE PENNY.

We are so sad to hear of Joel's death.  He was such a good man and loved his family.  We remember so many times seeing Joel climb the ladder at South Gwinnett to video the games.  He was such a big part of the South Gwinnett youth association and the South Gwinnett High School community.  He was so proud of his daughter, Stephanie and Barbara.  We will keep the family in our prayers and thoughts during this side time.
