Doug Smith, age 71, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Doug was born June 30, 1946 in Atlanta, GA to Zoner Barnes Smith and Albert Lee Smith who both preceded him in death.
Doug grew up in Roswell and was a body shop and service manager for Chevrolet, before opening and operating Central Body and Paint in Atlanta; he later moved to Lawrenceville and established Lawrenceville Body & Paint. He was a member of Bold Springs Baptist Church and the Atlanta-Northlake Chapter of the Elks Lodge 78.
Doug is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, William (Anita) Douglas Smith, Kenneth (Chanda) Lee Smith and Mark Allen Smith, Chris (Bonnie) Bryson; daughters, Aliesha (David) Edwards and Tiffany Christopher; 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Doug will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Eternal Hills Funeral Home at 3594 Stone Mountain Hwy in Snellville; an entombment will follow in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive visitors after the entombment in Eternal Hills Funeral Home.
