She was born September 12, 1914 in Athens, Maine, daughter of Stattie and Jeddie Brown. Laura’s mother passed away when Laura was only one year and four days old.
Laura married Cyril Aaron Corson, October 15, 1934. He passed away March 7, 1993 at the age of 82. They had been married a little over 58 years.
She worked for Norrwock Shoe Company in Skowhegan for a number of years, most of the time hand lacing shoes. After Norrwock Shoe she worked for Ameri-Tex in Skowhegan retiring at the age of 65.
She is survived by three children; a daughter, Beverly Lake and husband Earland, two sons; Randell Corson and wife Patricia, Leroy Corson and wife Gail, two grandsons; Bryan Corson and Eric Lake, two granddaughters; Meredith (Corson) Grover and husband Jonathon, Hillary (Corson) Blanchard and husband Jon, great-grandchildren; Amanda (Corson) Taylor and husband Wade, Hunter Corson, Emma Grover, Violet Grover, Kailee Cox, Kristen Cox, Annamarie Blanchard, great-great-granddaughter; Erin Taylor, special niece Evon (Brown) Heatley, also other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two children; Calvin Corson and Iva Corson, one sister Dora (Brown) Ellis and husband Leamon, four brothers; Dell Brown and wife Mildred, Harry Brown never married, Sheldon Brown and wife Barbara, Wallace Brown and wife Alice.
She has held the gold cane for Athens for a number of years.
The family would like to extend many thanks to Dr. Lambke and the staff at Woodlawn Rehab and Nursing Center.
At Laura’s request services will be held privately for immediate family with no flowers.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
