Kathy Hazel Sennett, 64, of Harmony, recently died at her home. She was born November 20, 1953, the daughter of Anthony and Hattie Sendzik. She attended school in Harmony. She and Seth Sennett were married in 1972. As she was growing up on the farm she quickly developed a love for animals; from helping tend to thousands of new born chicks, to her horse, to the rabbits and pigs she and her husband raised. She looked forward to her bird count each year, and kept a cat for company. Her interests in nature and science kept her in wonder of eclipses, comets, auroras, geology, and weather. She was convinced that a 3 feet hole in the field was the results of a meteorite impact. TV programs of the Ancient Aliens, Antique Roadshow, Bull Riding, and Star Trek have lost a major viewer.
Over the years Kathy was employed at Hathaway Shirt Company, Medwed Shoe Shop, Delong Sportswear, and Bartlett Yarn. She became a master sewer / stitcher leading to her enjoyment of sewing clothes for Barbie Dolls.
Kathy was predeceased by: her parents Anthony & Hattie Sendzik, her husband Seth Sennett, her brother John Sendzik, her special aunt Helen Sendzik, her uncle Clyde, friend & helper Earle.
She is survived by: her sister Arlene Lyons and husband David; their children, Melody Grant, Chris Rowell, Pam Wyman, Karen Rowell, Gail Lamb, Arthur Rowell; her brother Skip Sendzik and wife Sandi; their children, Michele Miller, Tami Baker, Gina Newcomb, Stacey Sanborn; other nieces and nephews: Jeremy, Justine, Jasmine, Jade, Jewel, Jebediah, Zack, Anna, Dylan, Monica, Haley, Nick, Lexi, Colby, and Isabella; Several cousins and her cat “Mr. T”.
We are all very appreciative of the care and help from all those who helped Kathy during her last few years. Special thanks to Jeff and Gail, Jade, Jewel, Justin, Amy, Bingo, Mike Carter, Jeannette Palmer, and all of the home care providers who assisted in making it possible for Kathy to remain in her home for many years.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, July 1, at 1:00pm at the Smart and Edward's Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
