Colleen was born October 14, 1931 in Newport, Maine, the daughter of Thomas “Doc” Clement and Laura Clement. She attended Newport schools and graduated from MCI in Pittsfield and Eastern Maine General Hospital of Nursing in Bangor. Colleen married Frederick Bean and they lived on Ohio Street in Bangor for most of their years together. She and Fred were active in community events, enjoyed restoring antique autos and getting together with their families over the holidays.
Colleen loved music and sang along with musicians that performed at her nursing home.
Surviving members of Colleen’s family include her sister, P. Lorraine Perkins and children, Christopher Perkins and his wife Claire, Scott Perkins and his wife Johanna; sister in law, Emily Bean and her children, Elizabeth Bean, Dorothy Lippincott, Judith Bean, John Bean, David Bean and Albert Bean Jr..
Colleen was predeceased by her husband Frederick Bean and brother’s in-laws, George Perkins and Albert bean.
Colleen’s family would like to thank the staff of Woodlawn Nursing Home and Winterberry Heights for their wonderful care of Colleen.
Viewing hours will be held on Friday November 16, 2018 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine with a funeral to follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial to be held in the spring at the Riverside Cemetery in Newport, Maine.
Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
