Monica Graciela Rouco, 74, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on April 26, 2022, survived by her husband, Manuel Rouco; siblings Ron Bianchi and Patricia Curry; sons Gonzalo Prieto, Diego Prieto (Brad Oscar) and Alejandro Rouco; and her grandson, Sebastian Rouco.
The oldest of four siblings, she was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Mario and Graciela Bianchi. She emigrated to the United States in 1974 and proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2016.
Over the course of her career, she worked as a naval attaché for the Argentine embassy, a health care case manager for children with special needs, and her most fulfilling job, as an interpreter at Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Monica was an avid reader, loved the theater, loved to dance, to cook, and, it was agreed, she made the best empanadas and gnocchi. But her most cherished role was that of grandmother to her pride and joy, Sebastian.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. And we can all honor her by heeding her usual phone send off- “Have fun, enjoy life!”
A service and celebration of life is being planned.
