My heartfelt prayers go out to Joyce, Jessica and Jennifer for such a deep loss. Gary was God's masterpiece-faithful, inquisitive and tough as I have ever known. My memory goes back to the Short Stop Diner in  Wheaton. It's after midnight and a bunch of us guys are sitting at the counter quietly devouring our late night breakfast. Suddenly, Gary looks up from his empty egg stained plate and belts out "Larry bring us another round !!!"  We all agreed " yes, another round !!" Hence, the very first " 2nd breakfast " happened on a hot summer night on University Boulevard in 1976. I'm a witness. Eat your heart out Frodo Beggins.

I'm very sorry to hear that Gary has passed away.  I'll always remember the look on his face, years ago, at Dickerson Quarry,  when he let a sixpack of Busch sink to the bottom.  You can imagine.

Had so many good times with Gary from early childhood through high school. Hanging in his basement while skipping school, meeting at "The Hill" on Friday nights, and going to concerts. Really sad to hear of his early passing.

I remember climbing the gates inside of parkland an going over them to places we were not allowed,well big guy how bought them gates of Heaven!R.I.P. old friend. Gary was one of the good guys.   You will be missed Marty Salins.

Dear Joyce, you may not remember me. I lived across from your brother Bob. I was very saddened to hear of Gary's passing. My sincerest condolences to you and your daughters. You are in my thoughts and prayers. 

We are saddened of the much too soon passing of our old friend-Gary. Even though we did not see much of him and his family during recent times, we have nothing but fond memories during our high school and formative years.  Gary's abundant smile, insightful wit, and love for the excitement of life, was a gift he gave all those around him. We will never forget the times with Gary at the Wilcox house for it was always a perfect meeting place for our crew to have parties, cook-outs, or to listen to the latest Jethro Tull or YES album. And there was always an offer of an ice cold Old German, Munich, or Old Export (whichever was on sale that week). Thank you Mr. Wilcox!
