Dorothea Leanora Agnew passed away on April 29, 2021 with her husband of 42 years, Troy, and children, Troy and Alex, by her side. Her parents were Eleanora Kalie Czoper and Stanley Czoper.
Dotty—never Dorothea—was born in Washington, D.C., lived for many years in Colesville, Maryland, and loved spending summer with friends in Franklin, Maine, winter in Palmetto, Florida, and a special weekend in the fall with her mother’s family in Pennsylvania. Dotty’s work life was teaching. She impacted hundreds of lives over decades at Montgomery College. Dotty’s real life was learning and marveling at the world. She wondered at the birds, mushrooms, and plants all around us and could look at waves crashing into a rocky Maine beach for hours.
If you would like to celebrate Dotty’s life with a donation, her family suggests Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland; Frenchman Bay Conservancy in Hancock, Maine; or Felts Audubon Preserve in Palmetto, Florida.
