Chun Bong Lee, born April 13, 1937 in Taishan (Hoisan), China, passed away on August 6, 2023 at the age of 86. He married Sau Yin Ng in 1959 and their young family arrived in the United States on February 6, 1963, joining an extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins in the Washington, DC area. He lived in Washington, Maryland and Florida, returning to Maryland in 2013 but spent extended periods of time with Kik and Shelby in Florida and Arizona, and visiting friends across the USA.
Bong worked hard to support his family and enjoyed time with friends, eating, traveling, fishing, visiting the casino, horse races, playing mah-jong and cards. He enjoyed sports, playing volleyball as a young man and ping-pong in his senior years, watching volleyball, basketball, soccer and tennis. He enjoyed working in the garden, growing Chinese vegetables and was a good cook, shopping and preparing meals for his children and grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest next to Sau Yin and is survived by his daughter, Lai Lee-Birman; grandson Nikolaj Lee Birman; granddaughter Elsebeth Lee Birman; son Kik Yui Lee; grandson Jason Lee; granddaughter Susan Vy Lee; grandson Alex Shi-Fon Lee; granddaughter Jennifer Xiao-Xiang Lee; son Shelby Kik Lee; granddaughter Cynthia Hope Lee; son George Kik Lee; granddaughter Zoe Asako Lee and grandson Noah Akira Lee.
