Carol Ann Norton Guy (age 75) passed Wednesday, July 17, 2019 peacefully at home in DE from complications of Alzheimer’s. Carol grew up in Lewisdale, MD with her parents and two sisters. She married William A Guy 56 years ago and they had one son William J Guy. They lived in Euclid Ohio for a short time and then returned to Maryland. Carol worked as a medical transcriber and administrative assistant at Holy Cross Hospital and Suburban Hospital. She met lifelong friends there. She later worked in the School of Architecture at the University of Maryland. She retired from the University of Maryland. After retirement she and Bill moved to Bridgeville, DE.
Carol was a Life member of Chi Sigma Sorority. She held most offices, including National President and Board of Trustees for the charities of this organization; where she also made lifelong friends.
Carol was a warm, fun-loving person. She loved to travel. She and her sisters would make frequent trips to NYC where they enjoyed the city life; dining out, shopping, and attending plays. She and her husband Bill enjoyed taking cruises with friends and family. They also would take one day road trips to various locations discovering the sights around them. She loved the beach which led them to buy a second home at Assateague Pointe where she would spend as much of the summer as she could.
Above all Carol loved her family. She is survived by her husband, William A Guy; her son William J Guy (Margaret); her grandchildren Noelle Guy (Brian Schuler) and Thomas Guy (Holly); sisters Sandy Stark (Chris) and Nancy Harding (Mike Ricketts); nephews Brian Harding (Marshall Ellis)and Todd Stark; nieces Traci Record (Matt ) and Kelley Stephens (Mark); and one great nephew Luke Record. Carol would have welcomed her first great-grandchild in October of this year.
There will be a time of visitation at Hines-Rinaldi on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 10:30 to 12 noon and a funeral service at noon. The internment will follow the service at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Chi Sigma National Charity; 3905 Darleigh Road, #2E, Baltimore, MD 21236.
