Carlos Augusto Martinez Sr., born on October 14, 1935, in Lima, Peru, to the late Nazario Martinez and Victoria Cardenas Ochoa, was the eldest child in a large, extended family. He passed away at the age of 88, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Carlos immigrated to the United States in 1968, eventually becoming a U.S. citizen. He settled in the Washington, D.C. area and made his home in Maryland, where he raised his family. A devoted father, he cherished every moment spent with his family and friends. His love for the ocean drew him to Ocean City, MD, and Naples, FL, where he enjoyed summers fishing, eating seafood, and relaxing by the water.
In 2000, Carlos retired as a Journeyman from the Steamfitters Local 602. He found joy in dancing, playing billiards, watching classic films, savoring Italian and Peruvian cuisines, and appreciating his wine collection. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Carlos is survived by his five children, five grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly. Funeral will be held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home on June 9th 2024.
