She was born on December 10, 1932 in Poplar Bluff, MO. to the late Theodore “Ted” and Myrtle Edwards York.
On December 22, 1952 in Piggott, AR. she married Donald Eugene Kellett who preceded her in death on April 6, 2006.
Mary was the owner and operator of Mary’s Boutique for over 30 years. She was an avid member of the Fox Haven Country club, for many years and was a member of the First Christian Church in Sikeston, MO.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandy Kellett-Gordon of Lynchburg, TN. And Tonya Kellett of Pittsburgh, KS; one sister Carolyn (Dugless) Estes of Cape Girardeau, MO.; one granddaughter Mychelle (Steven) Sloan of Sikeston and one great-granddaughter Danica Sloan of Sikeston, MO. ; twelve nieces and nephews and by a very special couple whom she adopted as her own Terry and Diane Ottinger of Sikeston, MO.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Kellett’s personal care aide, Leta Swinney for all of her love and care and the Lutheran Home Hospice for all the love and care they have provided.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ted York Jr.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN. 38105-9959 or any charity of your choice.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
