She was born December 31, 1938, in Sikeston, daughter of O.W. and Lema Holland
Duncan. She was married to Joe Miles on Dec. 15, 1962, who preceded her in
death Dec. 24, 1985. On July 6,1993, she married Lynn Lancaster who survives of
the home.
She graduated from Sikeston High School in 1956 where she was a vice cayenne
of the Red Peppers, and head twirler. She owned and operated Rodchesters Deli
in Sikeston with her husband, Lynn, for many years. Currently, they owned and
operated Sweet Gum Gallery and Frame Shop in Sikeston.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Norma Miles of
Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Daniel Mudd of Leitchfield, KY.;
one step son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Camille Lancaster of Sikeston; and one
step daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Travis Qualls of Sikeston; four grandchildren,
Allison and Joe Miles of Sikeston; and Miles and Lucy Mudd of Leitchfield, Ky.; and
eight step grandchildren, Maddie, Annie, Chloe, Jax, Sam and Lori Lancaster of Sikeston;
and Gracie and Emma Qualls of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Juliette “Judy” Asa.
A prayer service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where
visitation will follow from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
A funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with
the Rev. Patrick Nwokoye serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Garden
of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Charles David Springs, David Page, Norman Woods, George Hale,
Roy Davis and Larry Williams.
