Martha Lou Cox, 66, of Sikeston, died March 4, 2012 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born June 6, 1945, in Sikeston, to the late Hubert and Leona Blackburn Boyer, she was the owner of The Accent Shop in Sikeston for seventeen years, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. On December 1, 1962, in Sikeston, she was married to James E. Cox, who preceded her in death on November 14, 2003.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James E. “Jimmy” and Wendy Cox Jr. of Sikeston; one daughter, Kathy Cox of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren, Lindsey Cox, James E. Cox III, Lauren Kelley, William Cox, Blair Kelley, Tyler Kelley and Jacob Cox, all of Sikeston.
Visitation will be held beginning at 9:30am Wednesday, March 7, 2012, until time of funeral services at 11:00am at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Sikeston, officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James E. Cox III, William Cox, Jacob Cox, Tyler Kelley, Justin Cox and Nathan Cox.
