Lena Inez Lee, 95, of Sikeston, died March 22, 2015, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. Born October 30, 1919, in Clarksville, Ark., to the late Taylor and Lilly Hartlein Beaman, she had been employed by the International Shoe Factory during her early years and later became owner/operator of Angel Daycare, retiring after twenty years. She was a member of the North Acres General Baptist Church in Sikeston. On November 20, 1937, in New Madrid, she married Elmer Lee, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2002.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Carolyn Lee of Sikeston. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Michael and Shannon Lee, Kristi Wheetley, Randy and Angie Stark, Chad and Laurie Stark and Andy and Laurie Eason; and eleven great grandchildren, Matthew Lee, David Lee Brashears, Nicholas Stark, Rachel Lee, Riley Stark, Trace Wheetley, Chance Wheetley, Josie Stark , Sydney Stark, Landry Eason and Dakota Ray.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James Leroy Lee, one daughter, Linda Gail Lee, and one brother, J.T. Beaman.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Steve Tippen, former pastor of the North Acres General Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, with her great grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
