Larry was born on March 14, 1947 to the late Jesse and Willa Middleton Rodgers of Sikeston.
On July 5, 1969 in Sikeston, Mo., he married JoAnn Davidson who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by two sons, Larry Rodgers Jr. and Chris (Sandra) Rodgers of Sikeston, two brothers Jerry Rodgers of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Frankie Jo Rodgers of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and one sister; Linda Rodgers Boykin of Sikeston, Missouri, fourteen grandchildren: Jesse Bozell, Jordan (Robert) Rodgers, Nathan (Bria) Rodgers, Heather (Chase) Vinson, Gabe Latham, Hannah Latham, Drew Rodgers, Allie Rodgers, Cooper Rodgers, Kyle Mack Rodgers, Riley Rodgers, Mattie Rodgers, Aden Turner, and Allie Turner; five great grandchildren Mollee Marcum, Kyler Jace “K.J.” Walker, Myla Tracy Vinson, and Bennett VanMatre.
Larry was a Veteran of the United States army where he received: The Purple Heart, National Defense service medal, Vietnam service medal and the Vietnam Campaign medal during his time of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter Tracy Rodgers Latham, six brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be on Friday November 12, 2021 at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 12:00 pm. Bro. Tim Russell, pastor at Lighthouse Church in Dexter, MO., officiating.
Interment will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made to the National Cancer Society.
