He was born on October 13, 1957, in Flint Michigan, to the late DK Lape and Cozette Knight Lape, who survives of Sikeston, he worked in agricultural sales, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sikeston and a member of the Sikeston Jaycees.
He is survived by three daughters, Ashleigh Lape of Phoenix, Arizona; Kenleigh (Arlen) Carapetian of Phoenix, Arizona; Katherine Lape of Sikeston; three grandsons, Blake and Allen Carapetian, and Brodie Pigg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Sally Lape and Terry and Sandy Lape, all of Sikeston; and five nieces and nephews, Deke Lape, Carrie Lape, Clay Lape, Katie Merideth, and Riley Lape.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Lape, and one nephew, Cooper Lape.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston. The Reverend Jennifer Moxley will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Deke Lape, Clay Lape, Riley Lape, David Vaughn, Mark Deane, and Jeff Sutton.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Geary Yant, Steve Lomax, Matt Deane, Hunter Deane, Mike Conway, David Hough, Edward Pike, and Kevin Ward.
