St. Louis-Franklin Smith Edmiston, 74, died June 5, 2011, at his home with his loving wife, Fawn, by his side. Born February 15, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, MO, to the late Anne Janice and Smith Francis Edmiston. Beloved husband of Fawn Edmiston, Father of Camille (Mark) Borgmann, and Grandfather to Emma Borgmann. Dear friend and family member to many.
Frankie graduated from Sikeston High School, Class of 1955, where he made many wonderful and lasting friendships, all of which he cherished, including his “best friend in life” Bill Lewis. Frankie played Center and Linebacker on the 1954 undefeated Sikeston Football Team, The Bulldogs, where he was named All Conference Center and Honorable Mention All-State. He was a member of Sikeston Elks Lodge #2319. Even though Frankie lived in St. Louis, his heart belonged to Sikeston.
Frank retired from Southwestern Bell in December, 1991, and lived a full and wonderful life of traveling and retirement. His favorite saying was “Life Is Good!”
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00pm Saturday, June 11, with services beginning at 2:00pm at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Private burial will follow at the Old Morley Cemetery for immediate family only.
A gathering for family and friends will begin at 4:00pm on Saturday at the Sikeston Elks Lodge #2319, located at 349 Dona in Sikeston.
