She was born on April 11, 1947, in Charleston, MO to the late Paul and Freida Scheffer.
She is survived by four sons: Allan (Dana) Lynch of Oran, MO, Jamie (Melissa) Lynch of Sikeston, MO, Keith (Tracy) Lynch of Morehouse, MO, and Brian Lynch of Sikeston, MO; one daughter, Carrie (Darrell) Williams of Sikeston, MO; one brother, Paul (Joe) Scheffer of Millersville, MO; two sisters: Ellen Chrostoski of Pittsburg, IL and LaDonna (Jamie “Pat”) Triplett of Eldorado, IL; sixteen grandchildren: Amber (Patrick), Kaycie, Liston (Chloe), Dallas, Colton, Lydia, Allison (Jordan), Camryn, TJ (Ashley), Katie, Shawnee (Samuel), Abbie, Brianna, Kingston, Sabrina and Hailey; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy (Mark) Vance; dear friend, Mike Ralph; two brothers, Arthur “Art” Scheffer and Robert Scheffer; one sister, Elaine Haney; and her former husband, Donald Lynch.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, and baking. Her homemade rolls were always a hit at any family gathering.
A visitation will be held at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10;00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. with Scott Sutton, pastor of New Life Ministries, New Madrid, MO, officiating.
A private burial will be held at a later date at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Charleston, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
