HATTON, Thomas Earl – 68, Brookfield, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2012 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late William and Josephine (Francis) Hatton. Tom worked in the woods all of his life and he enjoyed the outdoors. Family was very important to Tom and he was especially proud of his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humour. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Dillman), children Linda Taylor, Truro; Joan Hatton (Bill), Brookfield; Theresa Siggins (Floyd), Pugwash; Lester Siggins (Cathy), Elmsdale; grandchildren Ryan, Jodi, Amy, Kristen, Mitchell, Matthew and William; great grandchildren Cameron, Bailey and Logan; sisters Vivian Keeling, Windsor; Jacqueline Dendoff, Elmsdale; brothers Harry Hatton, Sherbrooke; and Richard (Louise) Hatton, Enfield, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Joan Hurshman, Florence MacNamara, Josephine Greenfield, brother William Hatton in infancy. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home. Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Sunday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral service 10am, Monday in Gays River United Church, Gays River. Interment in Gays River Cemetery.
