Reinder Ale van der Kooi

van der Kooi, Reinder Ale – 92, Milford/Upper Nine Mile River, passed away peacefully June 15, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital. Born in Friesland, Netherlands he was the son of Reinder van der Kooi and An (deVries). He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Together, he and his wife Kunje ran a family dairy farm in Upper Nine Mile River. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 69 years, Kunje deVries, his children Chester (Catherine), Hiltje Colburn (Ralph), Brant (Eileen), Ann Guildford (Robert) and Mary Jane McCulloch (Lewis); 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, June 17, from 6 – 8 PM. Together we will celebrate his life, Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 AM at the Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Hwy 2, Shubenacadie with burial at Sand Hill Cemetery, Upper Nine Mile River Dale Crawford DLM officiating.
