Dear Burris Family,

Our thoughts and prayers have been with you over the last few weeks and you all continue to be close to our hearts especially on this most difficult day. Please except our deepest sympathy on your enormous loss. The extended Scanlan family including Lou and Ann, Barb and family, Lou and Marge and family and Sharon and her children.

Our heartfelt sentiments go out to Aunt Iva, all the family and to Aunt Grace (Henry).  Uncle John was a special person to us.  We looked forward to our visits as a highlight to coming back to N.S.  This was especially significant once our own parents were not with us.  We shared interests, including Canon cameras, Airstream trailers, Chrysler cars, and love for the Rocky Mountains.  He had this other knack that came in handy over the years as he patched, stitched and inoculated us as required from injuries sustained on the homestead farm.  The end of an era and he will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Burris' family. Dr. Burris was an integral part of the community of East Hants. He was always there for myself and my family. On so many occasions he went above and beyond what was expected of a family doctor. He epitomized what a family physician should be.

I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing and want to extend my sincere condolences.I remember seeing your  Mom and Dad at Sarah's graduation last May and thinking how wonderful they looked and how fortunate you were to have both of your parents there to help you celebrate.

When it was announced at our church on Sunday a collective gasp of "Oh No" went through the congregation - a testament to how well liked your father was in our area.  Our minister, who is new, commented on how well respected he must have been judging from the reaction when it was announced he had died.  May that comfort you in the days ahead.
