After his service, Wilace returned to work as a butcher for Fielders Grocery Store for over 30 years. One of his greatest joys was being a Mason with the Shriner's Jappa Lodge for 74 years, where he participated in many local parades and the Shriners Circus each year. Connie and Wilace were members of Highland Baptist Church and then First Baptist Church and he lived his life with faith and kindness.
Wilace was preceded in death by his wife, Connie. Left to cherish his memory are many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at The Oaks of Louisiana North Pavillion and to Lee Graves, a faithful, caring companion, who watched over Wilace until his death.
A visitation will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, LA 71108 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Fellowship Cemetery, 3287 Hwy 531, Dubberly, LA 71024 at 2:00 p.m.
